Appointment & Session Statuses

Learn how appointment and session statuses in Bravely work — from unconfirmed bookings to completion.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Appointments in Bravely move through a series of statuses to help you and your clients stay on the same page. These statuses update automatically based on actions you or your client takes, helping keep your records and billing accurate.

📌 Appointments are the scheduled time slots in your calendar.

Each one is linked to a session, where you can plan, take notes and more. If an appointment is cancelled, the session (with any written plans) remains open for the next scheduled appointment. (See How Appointments & Sessions Work Together)

Status Flow Overview

Here’s how an appointment typically progresses:

  1. Unconfirmed
If you've set your appointments to require confirmation:

    • If you confirm → status becomes Upcoming

    • If you reject → status becomes Rejected

To enable appointment confirmation, see Enable Unconfirmed Appointments.

  2. Upcoming

The session is confirmed and scheduled to take place:

    • Can be manually rescheduled or cancelled

    • Automatically changes to Ended once the time passes, pending an attendance marking

  3. Ended

The session time has passed. You’ll be prompted to mark it as:

    • Attended

    • Cancelled

    • No Show

  4. Other statuses

    • Cancelled – Appointment was cancelled by either you or the client before it took place

    • Rescheduled – The appointment was moved to a new time
